World Championship Cockroach Racing Media
Hi, I'm Rebecca, a traveller teenager from Australia. I'm going to show you one of our best festivals in Oz.
Only in Australia would we celebrate our national holiday by racing cockroaches. On a day when most countries would be flag raising, parading the streets and celebrating their nationality, Australians head to the pub for some serious cockroach action.
Since 1989, at the Storey Bridge Hotel in Brisbane we've been racing the insects every hot summer January 26. It all started in 1982 when two barflies began arguing that the cockroaches from his part of the town were the fastest in Brisbane. They tested their convictions in a parking lot, the bar crowd enjoyed it and the, the races started.
For Australian people, cockroaches are an integral part of their society, and every house has got them.
On this special day, people gather in crowds with cockroaches in plastic cups. The stewards position themselves around the ring. The head steward removes the lid of the box and turns it upside down on the ground. The cockroaches mill over each other, still trapped inside.
When the head steward finally releases the cockroaches, it's the climax. The cockroaches scramble and scuttle in every direction. The stewards dive all over the mats locate the first three.
The winners are announced and their human representatives come out to cheers or booing from the crowd.
The prize: some beer

St. Patrick's Day Festival
Hi I'm Brandon. I welcome you to this blog. First of all, I'm going to explain you my favorite festival which is St. Patrick's Day Festival.
St. Pratick's Day is a famous Irish festival which is celebrated on the 17th of March
around the world.
They celebrate it wearing green clothes, drinking Irish beers, going to parades, etc.
The parade of St. Patrick's Day festival takes place in Dublin and lasts for five days. In 2006, 500,000 people went there. This parade is also celebrated around the world; for example, last year in New York 2 million people watched it; and in 2005 in Chicago,
the river was painted with the green colour.
Here is a photo of chicago in 2005:

Cambridge Film Festival
The Cambridge Film Festival is one of the biggest film festivals in the UK. Normally it’s taken place in early June in Cambridge, but since 2008 the festival has been celebrated in September.
It was set up in 1997. The Cambridge Film Festival is famous for showing an international selection of films that have been classified as category “A“ film festivals, including the Cannes Film Festival and Berlin Film Festival. The Film Festival’s mission is to showcase the best international cinema to the widest possible audience. The Cambridge Film Festival receive a lot of films that then they select. All films that appear in the Festival are open to the public to watch them. The Cambridge Film Festival has two prizes, and both are voted by the Festival’s audience:
Short Fusion Audience Prize for the best short film.
The Audience Favourite Award for best film.
The 11 day Festival is based in the state-of-the-art three screen Art Picturehouse cinema in the centre of Cambridge.
In recent years the festival have include more types of independent films. For example in 2005 the Festival showed some documentary and some versions of classic cinema.
The Festival takes place in Cambridge’s three-screened Art Picturehouse, a local arts cinema. Since 2005 the Festival has expanded to other places like for example Cambridge Cineworld multiplex, arts venue The Junction, and Sawston Cinema. The festival also has touring events across the entire Eastern region of England.
In 2006 the Cambridge Film Trust was launched, a new charity aiming to support and promote the film festival and film culture in Cambridge.
So, anyway, I’m going to investigate and review some film trailers from the festival.
