Cambridge Film Festival

The Cambridge Film Festival is one of the biggest film festivals in the UK. Normally it’s taken place in early June in Cambridge, but since 2008 the festival has been celebrated in September.

It was set up in 1997. The Cambridge Film Festival is famous for showing an international selection of films that have been classified as category “A“ film festivals, including the Cannes Film Festival and Berlin Film Festival. The Film Festival’s mission is to showcase the best international cinema to the widest possible audience. The Cambridge Film Festival receive a lot of films that then they select. All films that appear in the Festival are open to the public to watch them. The Cambridge Film Festival has two prizes, and both are voted by the Festival’s audience:
Short Fusion Audience Prize for the best short film.
The Audience Favourite Award for best film.

The 11 day Festival is based in the state-of-the-art three screen Art Picturehouse cinema in the centre of Cambridge.

In recent years the festival have include more types of independent films. For example in 2005 the Festival showed some documentary and some versions of classic cinema.

The Festival takes place in Cambridge’s three-screened Art Picturehouse, a local arts cinema. Since 2005 the Festival has expanded to other places like for example Cambridge Cineworld multiplex, arts venue The Junction, and Sawston Cinema. The festival also has touring events across the entire Eastern region of England.

In 2006 the Cambridge Film Trust was launched, a new charity aiming to support and promote the film festival and film culture in Cambridge.

So, anyway, I’m going to investigate and review some film trailers from the festival.
